What some of the Benefits of feeding Hemp Seeds to your animals?

Hemp Seeds are a power house of nutrition. They are naturally packed with Fibre, Protein and Essential Fatty Acids (Omega 3, 6 &9).

As a much sort after protein source, Hemp seeds offer all 20 essential amino acids, 10 of which the the body cannot create. The amino acid content is found naturally in their correct proportion, exceeding the popular legume soy. Protein provides amino acids, building blocks used to create body proteins, that are essential for body function.

The essential Fatty Acid content of Hemp Seeds are another pleasant surprise. Both Linoleic acid (omega 6) and Alpha- Linolenic Acid (ALA – Omega 3) in a ratio of 3:1. Now, you might be thinking that the ratio doesn’t sound right, we are used to looking for a reversed ratio – more omega 3 than 6 but … Hemp have two types of fat that you won’t find in significant levels anywhere else that help make sense of why this ratio is so good.

Hemp seeds contain:

GLA – Gamma Linolenic Acid – which belongs in the Omega 6 family, but unlike linoleic acid, it reduces inflammation instead of promoting it.

Stearidonic Acid (omega 3) – is a precursor to longer chain omega 3’s, DHA and EPA – found in fish oils and significantly reduce inflammation.

So as you can see, Hemp seeds provide a plethora of nutrition, making them the perfect super-food to add you your animals diet.
